An Experimental Study on Simulating Shear Thickening Fluids using FLIP

(in English) Shear thickening fluids behave like a solid when sudden external forces are added to themselves. In computer graphics, several methods have been proposed to simulate shear thickening fluids using a particle-based approach. However, this approach might lack stability of calculation or reality of results. To address these problems, we have been studying a method for calculating the shear thickening fluids using a hybrid simulation which combines a grid-based method and a particle-based method. In this paper, we report on our experiments with the FLIP (Fluid-Implicit-Particle).
