Improvement of Prediction Performance by Weighted Prediction for Cross-fade Video

(in English) Cross-fade is a special effect used in moving images. H.264, an international standard for video compression, improves efficiency by performing bidirectional weighted prediction for crossfades. On the other hand, unidirectional weighted prediction has been shown to be ineffective for crossfades. In this paper, we show that multi-weighted prediction using multiple parameter sets improves compression performance even in unidirection.
