Generating artwork using text

(in English) There are various types of character-based art. These include handwritten brushstroke art and machine-generated ASCII art. Most of the mechanically generated character art is text as it is. In this study, we propose a system that uses image processing to generate character art that reproduces the shape of the text by distorting the text itself. We compared the differences in the character art generated by changing the number of characters and the type of characters, and conducted a questionnaire survey as an evaluation. As a result, we confirmed that although the number of characters needs to be adjusted to improve the recognition accuracy of the artwork, it is possible to generate character artwork that can recognize shapes and characters to some extent.
