A Study of inter-subframe interleaver for Advanced ISDB-T

(in English) We are conducting research on an advanced Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting - Terrestrial (advanced ISDB-T) to realize high quality broadcasting services such as ultra-high-definition video for terrestrial broadcasting. The advanced ISDB-T enables a highly flexible frame configuration. As a scheme for multiplexing fixed and mobile reception layers, in addition to the FDM scheme that multiplexes on the frequency domain such as current ISDB-T system, the TDM scheme that multiplexes on the time domain can be used. TDM scheme is difficult to obtain the gain of time interleaving compared to FDM scheme, because each layer uses partial time in the OFDM frame which results to the shorter symbol durations. In order to improve the gain of time interleaving for TDM scheme, we have proposed inter-subframe interleaving. In this paper, the proposed scheme is evaluated by computer simulation. In addition, the proposed scheme involves an increase of pilot signal insertion ratio. Therefore, the impact on the transmission capacity is also evaluated.
