We propose a fractal dimensional filter to estimate time-position of the target sound from time series data. The filter is produced from fractal dimension of the time series signal. By setting the range of the fractal dimension of the filter, the target signal can be detected. Taking advantage that the fractal dimension varies depending on the estimation method, the filters can be constructed according to the purpose of analysis. The fractal dimension is calculated by two different methods, focusing on the self-similarity of the time series signal and the power 1aw function of the power spectral characteristics. Using data containing frog voices as an example, the filter construction method, the process of voice detection, and the results of time-position estimation are presented. The estimated results show that the detection is accurate within the length of the time window. |
