Effect of foot contact on the VR motion-sickness of VR swing

(in English) In the VR experience, we often feel dizziness and nausea, such effects prevent the advancement and widespread adoption of this technology. In this study, we introduced a VR simulation of a swing ride through a Head-Mounted Display (HMD). Participants felt a significant swinging motion simply without any physical motion when they were seated on a swinging chair lifting their feet off the floor. However, the swaying sensation was eliminated when the feet were on the ground. The primary objective of our study was to model this phenomenon and examine the relationship between the presented VR imagery and involuntary body movements. This research could provide an objective measuring method for the swaying sensation.
