Preliminary study on recognition of socks and towels for visually impaired people by multi channelization and CNN

(in English) In this report, we proposed an image recognition system to support visually impaired people to find socks or towels. Several linear and nonlinear image filters were applied to images obtained by a digital camera to generate feature images, which were fed into CNN to recognize socks and towels. This multi-channelization technique was used with CNN in the experiments. The recognition accuracy was evaluated by the macro-F measure.
