Numerical Study of Choke-Coil Integrated Wide-Angle Wide-Band Monopole Film Antenna

(in English) In order to realize IoT (Internet of Things), broadband antennas that support Wi-Fi and 5G are required. This study proposes a film antenna with a wide bandwidth and wide-angle directivity for the IoT applications. The proposed antenna is based on a bow-tie antenna, and it consists of a monopole antenna employing line elements and a coplanar-waveguide feed circuit. The antenna is printed on a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film using silver ink. In this paper, the proposed antenna is analyzed by electromagnetic simulation. The simulation results show that the antenna has a reflection coefficient approximately less than −10 dB in the design frequency range from 0.7 to 6 GHz. Furthermore, wide-angle directivity is achieved in the frequency range effectively using choke coils.
