Artificial photosynthesis is a technology to synthesize hydrocarbons from carbon dioxide and water using sunlight, and is attracting attention as a new fuel generation technology. To realize artificial photosynthesis, it is important to design photocatalysts with high light absorption performance, strong redox potential, and high electrification separation performance. We have formed a Z-scheme heterojunction between g-C3N4 and SnS2 using a wet chemistry method. Simultaneously, we attempted to enhance the catalytic activity by promoting charge separation at the junction surface by ensuring a large junction area. Thus, we established the heterojunction formation technique and increased the junction area by selecting g-C3N4 precursor, establishing a dispersion method of g-C3N4 and SnS2, and protonating g-C3N4 to realize the Z-scheme photocatalyst. |
