Wavelet Multi-Resolution Analysis of Color Laparoscopic Image before and after Contrast Enhancement

(in English) It is important to evaluate image processing and recognition using machine learning, deep learning, and neural network because of carrying out the accurate medical image analysis. In addition, it comes possible to image quality assessment considering medical image characteristics by performing the multi-resolution analysis after transforming the image to frequency domain using the signal processing technique. Thus far, we have evaluated the image quality of contrast enhanced color laparoscopic images and designed a framework, but it was not sufficient for a large database. In order to improve the accuracy of medical image analysis, in addition to appropriate contrast enhancement processing, wavelet analysis, a signal processing technique, should be used to make decisions in terms of multimedia signal processing. In this study, images were extracted from color laparoscopic video, contrast-enhanced, transformed to the frequency domain, wavelet transformed, and multi-resolution analysis was attempted. And then, the transformed images were statistically analyzed and discussed.
