Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In recent years, olfactory displays that can switch between smells have attracted attention among VR technologies, and these are used for purposes such as odor reproduction and dramatic effects. In this study, we developed a device that provides olfactory stimuli in conjunction with VR contents, and developed a system that presents smells to players as information about the approach of enemies. Comparative experiments with sound, which is usually used for guidance, showed that players can be guided to some extent by smell guidance. We also confirmed that the system can increase the sense of tension in the same way as sound.
