Proposal of Handwriting Input Device Based on Hand-held Object Detection and Position-Pose Estimation Using an RGB-D Camera

We propose a method to use a hand-held object as a handwriting input device by detecting objects using an RGB-D camera and estimating their position and pose. The target object is assumed to be a cylindrical writing instrument such as a pen or brush. It detects a hand holding the object from images taken with an RGB-D camera, converts the area around it into a point cloud, and estimates the position and pose based on known information such as size and shape to measure the movement of the writing instrument. |
