Simultaneous multiple video stream transmission using Mobile SINET

This paper describes an experiment using mobile SINET to transmit four channels of HDTV video. Four video streams were encoded and transmitted to a remote location via mobile SINET with low delay, a 5th generation mobile communication system. Each video stream had a resolution of 1080i and a frame rate of 30 fps and was encoded using HEVC. The experimental results showed that four 6Mbps IP streams, totaling 24Mbps, could be transmitted over Mobile SINET with no significant loss of quality. The average packet delay was about 36 msec and the packet loss rate was about 0.44%. The experiment was conducted at Tokyo International Film Festival held at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya on October 23, 2023. |
