Simplification of Hologram Computation by Bipolar Approximation and Comparison of Reproduced Images

(in English) Computer-generated holograms (CGH) usually require the computation of a large number of trigonometric functions. Look-up table (LUT) methods are often used in hardware implementations to decrease the calculation time. This study proposes a CGH calculation using the bipolar approximation method, which does not require a look-up table by approximating trigonometric functions only by +1 and -1. The bipolar approximation method is applied to the calculation of complex CGH, and image quality is evaluated using simulation results. Finally, the circuit configuration for applying the bipolar approximation method is discussed.
