Removal of conjugate image in incoherent digital holography using the single-sideband method

(in English) Although incoherent digital holography (IDH) can record holograms using natural light, it has an issue of image quality degradation due to conjugate image and zero-order diffracted light. The phase shift method has been used to remove these unwanted components, which requires recording of three or more holograms. This requirement decreases the frame rate when using the time-division techniques and sacrifices the resolution when using the space-division techniques. In this study, we introduce the half zone plate method to IDH, which has been used for computer-generated holograms, into hologram recording. We propose a novel technique to remove the conjugate image and zero-order diffracted light by capturing half zone plates using the recording optical system and processing them based on the single-sideband method using a computer. This approach requires the recording of two phase-shifted holograms.
