This report summarizes recent research on electrodeposition techniques for CoPt ultrathin films and nanowires for an application to next-generation 3D magnetic memory applications. Due to process limitations, high-aspect-ratio magnetic nanocolumns are required to be formed by electrodeposition technique. Therefore, development of ultrathin spintronic magnetic layers by electrodeposition is necessary. This study demonstrates electrodeposition of CoPt thin layers, and control of its composition and magnetic property. Pulsed electrodeposition achieved 7 nm thick Co$_{70}$Pt$_{30}$ showing perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. Additionally, Co$_{80}$Pt$_{20}$ nanowires were fabricated using membranes, and their magnetic domain structures were clarified. Multilayer [Co$_{80}$Pt$_{20}$/Co$_{30}$Pt$_{70}$]$_N$ nanowires were formed in a single bath by potential modulation. |
