As online video streaming services are becoming more widespread, an increasing number of people are watching videos at a higher speed to maximize time efficiency. However, in the case of artistic video content, changing the watching speed may not be an appropriate way to experience the works. Inhibiting changes in watching speed can help preserve the propriety of media transmission, but little research has been conducted with this specific objective. In this study, therefore, we propose a method that utilizes color vibration to visually inhibit changes in watching speed, and evaluate its effectiveness. We found that it is possible to change the appearance of a video at a watching speed other than normal by dividing each frame of the video into two perceptually equivalent frames. Experimental results illustrated that there is potential for this method to work effectively, but also revealed the need for improvement in actual use. |
