Building the High-Performance Virtualized Computing Platform "Hyperion"

In recent years, there has been a demand for more advanced and large-scale computations in holography and deep learning. To address the needs of next-generation research, we have built a high-performance computing platform named "Hyperion." The platform uses Proxmox VE, an open-source virtualization platform, as its OS and is equipped with a 128-core AMD EPYC 9754 CPU, a NVIDIA RTX pro 6000 Blackwell GPU with 96GB of VRAM, and a NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada with 48GB of VRAM. This has significantly accelerated the generation of high-resolution computer-generated holograms (CGH) and deep learning-based hologram generation. In this study, we report on the details of the system and its performance evaluation results. |
