The aim of the present study is to elucidate the spectral characteristics of fingertip vibrations during object tracing. Accordingly, several objects with different Young’s moduli and surface geometries were fabricated using polylactic acid resin and a skin-like gel material. The acceleration data obtained during fingertip tracing of the object surfaces were analyzed. An increase in Young’s modulus leads to an increase in peak intensity and an increase in surface roughness leads to an increase in peak intensity and peak frequency. Based on these results, peak intensity and peak frequency suggest that object surface properties and Young’s modulus exhibit a consistent trend. |
