Circularly Polarized Waveguide Antenna with Polarization Sharing Using Two Probes and Perturbating Elements

We propose a polarization-sharing circularly polarized antenna with two probes inserted into a waveguide. In the proposed structure, the waveguide cross-section is square to excite circular polarization, generating both the TE₁₀ mode and the TE₀₁ mode. For polarization sharing, an open stub is inserted between the two probes, and a perturbation element is placed on the waveguide inner wall. This weakly couples the two probes, enabling polarization sharing over a relatively wide bandwidth while sufficiently suppressing the magnitude of cross-polarization. This report describes the new design methodology, operating principle, and characteristics of the proposed antenna. |
