A drawing technique utilizing frame-by-frame animation for depicting the follow-through motion in animation

In recent years, animation production has increasingly incorporated 3D computer graphics techniques. However, when integrating 3D-generated animation data into traditional hand-drawn animation, viewers often perceive this integration as visually inconsistent. To address this issue, we propose that by examining the differences between hand-drawn animation techniques and 3D animation expressions, we can develop methods to more closely align 3D animation data with traditional hand-drawn stylistic expressions. In this study, we focus specifically on differences in follow-through animation techniques. Through our research, we propose a methodology for producing more simplified animation data by employing frame-by-frame reduction techniques on motion capture-derived animation data. |
