Monocular egocentric human pose estimation is vital for activity monitoring, yet determining absolute location remains challenging.
Existing methods focus on relative motion, suffering from scale ambiguity and translational drift without specialized hardware.
We propose Map-Mono-Ego, a framework achieving globally consistent pose estimation from a monocular camera by leveraging pre-scanned 3D point clouds.
We also introduce AIST-Living dataset, a dataset pairing egocentric video with ground-truth motion.
Experiments show our approach significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, demonstrating its utility for practical monitoring without specialized multi-sensor hardware. |
