With the rapid proliferation of IoT devices, there is a growing interest in wireless power transfer (WPT) technology. However, CMOS image sensors still predominantly rely on wired power supplies or batteries. While WPT offers significant advantages, such as enhanced design flexibility and installation freedom by eliminating power cables, there are concerns regarding image quality degradation caused by power supply fluctuations and electromagnetic interference (EMI). As a first step toward realizing a completely wireless CMOS image sensor, this study focuses on magnetic resonant coupling and evaluates the noise generated in captured images. Experimental results demonstrate that horizontal streak noise occurs during wireless powering, characterized by a significant increase in row temporal noise. Furthermore, source analysis reveals that the primary cause of this noise is the increase in photoelectric conversion electrons within the photodiode (PD) due to electromagnetic interference. |
