Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) There have been few studies about the change of impression on men’s skin condition caused by aging. In addition, current evaluation methods of aging impression commonly employ a questionnaire survey (SD method) and a subjective visual evaluation by cosmetic technicians. These evaluation methods are not objective and quantitative. This paper investigates the relationship between objective feature parameters obtained by image analysis and subjective aging impression scores obtained by questionnaire surveys. We clarify the feature parameters that can be used in a quantitative evaluation of aging impression. Impressions such as firmness and darkening of skin are quantified by multiple regression analysis of acquired aging impression scores and image feature parameters. The prospective applications of the proposed method are evaluation of each individual, measurement of effects of beauty products, advice on makeup methods, and so on.
