Support for online personalization by design activity index to achieve impressions

In recent years, services for creating products designed by consumers themselves have been expanding. However, it is not easy for a novice to design products in accordance with his or her own purpose. Therefore, in order to develop a support system for novices to design ideal impressions, we verified the effectiveness of a method of presenting know-how of designers that could be realizing value. Participants created design sketches of cups based on “gentle,” “futuristic,” and “mature” impressions separately. Results of comparing the evaluations between supported and unsupported conditions suggested that when the impression is easy to realize in design, presenting design knowledge would interrupt the design performance. In contrast, when the impression is hard to realize in design, the support would be effective. |
