Study of Reliable IP Multicast with P2P Packet Loss Recovery Using WebRTC

(in English) It is generally known that distribution using IP multicast is efficient in one-to-many or many-to-many large-scale distribution because a network device on the path copies and transmits data only to the path where the receiver is. However, when the communication reliability is required, it is necessary to implement the error correction or retransmission control, etc. to the application because UDP is usually used as the transport layer protocol in IP multicast. When large-scale delivery is assumed, the high load on the retransmission server becomes a big problem in the reliable multicast using retransmission control. by feedback.
This paper describes an IP multicast delivery method that guarantees the delivery of message packets completely by inter-terminal packet completion using WebRTC and unicast retransmission by a retransmission server. We also evaluate the load factor of the retransmission server in this method that depends on the correlation of lost packets in each terminal.
