The purpose of this study is to develop a non-dual algorithm that does not use tools such as dual variables, which are required in the past to solve the constrained convex optimization problem exactly. In this paper, we propose a new proximal gradient method that can be obtained by adding two improvements to the proximal gradient method that can obtain an approximate solution. This method does not use dual variables like the proximal gradient method, and can find exact solutions. We apply the proposed method to image inpainting and denoising problem, and conduct an experiment to examine its usefulness in inverse image processing problem. It is confirmed that the proposed method is a non-dual method but has performance comparable to the conventional dual method. |
