身体位置知覚における視覚情報の影響の時間特性

一方の手を鏡の裏に隠し，他方の手を鏡面に映すと，鏡面上の手が隠れた手であるかのように錯覚する（ミラー錯覚）．このとき，実際の手と鏡面上の手の位置にずれがある状態で錯覚を起こすと，鏡面を隠しても，見えない実際の手によるポインティングは鏡面上の手の位置方向にずれる．本研究ではこの錯覚を利用して視覚情報による手と足の位置知覚の捕捉効果の時間特性を検討した．その結果，錯覚量は手足いずれも全体の約2/3の被験者で時間経過とともに低下する一方（減少群），残りの約1/3は少なくとも90秒間は維持されていた（維持群）．また，減少群では手に比べて足の方がより早く錯覚量が減少した．これらの個人差及び身体部位による違いについて，各感覚や先行知識に対する重みづけの観点から議論を行う． |

If one hand is reflected in a one-way mirror positioned along the midsagittal plane while the other hand is hidden behind the mirror, we felt as if the mirror-reflected hand were my hidden hand ("mirror illusion"). The present study investigated the time course of visual information on hand and foot position perception using this mirror illusion. Results showed that the magnitude of illusion decreased with time for about two-thirds of participants regardless of body parts while it maintained for 90 s at least for the rest. For the former group, the decreasing rate was higher in the foot than the hand. We discuss these results from the viewpoint of how much weight individual’s brain assigns to each sensory modality and prior knowledge in different body parts. |
