A time capsule is a means of preserving memories, such as photographs and audio recordings, by burying them and later retrieving them after a certain period to relive those moments. The work we have created digitizes the concept of a time capsule. While maintaining the essence of burying and unearthing memories, our system allows users to immerse themselves in their recollections by projecting and replaying stored photos and audio using a projector. In this implementation, we utilize a Kinect sensor to measure the depth and position of kinetic sand. Photos and audio recordings are embedded at specific locations and depths within the sand, allowing users to uncover and experience them by digging into the corresponding areas. |
